I have worked here at NUS since 2013 and am presently a senior lecturer of political science. My research centers on political theoretic responses to problems generated by capitalist and ecological dynamics. In turn, I teach introductory courses in political theory as well as honors seminars on the politics of capitalism, the environment, and food. These seminars are (intentionally) blind to the subfield divisions found within political science, and make extensive use of the social sciences more broadly. I welcome students interested in approaching the study of politics from multiple perspectives.
For the 2023-24 academic year, I will be teaching the following courses:
Semester 1
Semester 2
I am currently working on a book manuscript that investigates the interrelations between capitalism and social, political, and ecological systems. In it, I work back and forth between political economy, environmental studies, and problems of democracy and justice.
