Brief Introduction

Yanbing Er is an Assistant Professor of Literature in the Department of English, Linguistics, and Theatre Studies at the National University of Singapore. She holds a PhD in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh. Before coming to NUS, Yanbing was Visiting Scholar at the Pembroke Center for Teaching and Research on Women at Brown University, in the Department of Gender Studies at the London School of Economics, and at the Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies Program at Duke University.

Yanbing's work on feminist theory, affect, contemporary literature and culture, and the environment has appeared or is forthcoming in Feminist Theory, Environmental Humanities, Women: A Cultural Review, Post45 Contemporaries, among others. Her first book, Feminism Enchanted (under contract with Columbia University Press), examines how a literary mode of enchantment might fundamentally transform how we encounter, and inhabit a relation to, feminism and feminist theory.
