Alice Christudason is an Associate Professor in Law at the Department of Real Estate, School of Design and Environment, National University of Singapore (NUS). As Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, she was engaged in litigation work before joining NUS. She was subsequently awarded an Association of Commonwealth Universities scholarship to pursue her Ph.D. at King’s College London, United Kingdom. Her Ph.D. in Land Law was completed under the supervision of Professor David Hayton, former Dean of King's College Law Faculty, and Chair of London University's Board of Studies in Law.

Alice Christudason has authored and co-authored reference texts on land law, including the latest revision of Halsbury’s Laws of Singapore, Volume 14: Land (2014, Lexisnexis) published in various international refereed journals including the Construction Law Journal, International Construction Law Review and Journal of Property Management and presented papers at international conferences. She has also acted as Consultant on property-related disputes and been actively involved in legislative reform. She was invited to make oral representations before two Parliamentary Select Committees: first on the Land Titles (Strata) Act in 1999 (chaired by Professor S. Jayakumar, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and then Minister for Law), and the second on the Building Maintenance and Management Bill in 2004, (chaired by Mr Mah Bow Tan, Singapore’s Minister for National Development). Both Bills involved strata title law, which pertains to private sector high-rise housing in Singapore. Alice Christudason is presently on the Editorial Advisory Board of the International Journal of the Built Environment (UK), the Real Estate Law Journal (US). She was recently invited to be Co-Editor of a special issue on Real Estate by the International Journalf of the Built Enivornment.  She was also  Co- Editor of a special issue on Legal Aspects of Housing, Land and Planning in the Journal of Professional Issues in Engineering Education and Practice (Legal Affairs), American Society of Civil Engineers (US). She was nominated Outstanding Reviewer at the Emerald Literati (UK) Network Awards for Excellence in 2010.

Alice Christudason has taught a variety of subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in both Singapore and the United Kingdom. These include land law, planning law, housing, land acquisition, legal systems, contract, tort and business.  She has conducted numerous executive training progammes for private organizations including Keppel Land, professional bodies including the Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers, Institution of Engineers, and statutory bodies including the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) and Jurong Town Corporation (JTC). She was an Associate Director at the NUS Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning (CDTL) for more than six years, and continues to be involved in a variety of training programmes for new academics and Graduate Teaching Assistants at NUS. Alice has also published widely on educational pedagogy in international refereed journals as well as presented papers at International Conferences. She has repeatedly won Teaching Excellence Awards at both University and Faculty levels from the inception of the NUS Teaching Awards in 1997, and was nominated and shortlisted for the Outstanding Educator Award in 2003. She heads the Department’s Teaching Development Committee and is currently on the NUS Teaching Excellence Award Honour Roll. She is presently Vice-Chair of the NUS Teaching Academy.

Alice is a member of the Singapore Valuation Review Board, Singapore Academy of Law and a volunteer mediator at the Consumer Association of Singapore and the Small Claims Tribunal (Singapore).
