Brief Introduction Top

Francesca Nathan teaches media writing courses such as News Writing and Editing (NM2221), Writing for Communication Management (NM3219) and Introduction to Media Writing (NM2220). She has also taught similar media and journalism courses as a part-time tutor at the Nanyang Technological University, where she obtained her Masters degree in Mass Communication.

A former journalist, she has held a range of editorial positions while working at The Straits Times for more than 12 years. The BSc (Biology) graduate started out as a news reporter, then moved on to cover the Health and Science beats. Subsequently, she served as a sub-editor and copy-taster for the news and features sections. Her responsibilities included coaching rookie reporters and interns. In her last position at the newspaper, as the content developer for Life! online, she planned web-exclusive content for the revamped features section.

Her areas of interest include online health communication and e-learning.
